In my blog I focus on many a different thing or aspect in the bustling whirl of our daily lives. Where the simple act of remembering to purchase eggs, spices, or that particular brand of high-quality basmati rice before our supplies dwindle becomes a Herculean task, the humble shopping list emerges as an unsung hero.
A simple shopping list can easily be an “important thing to read”....
This seemingly mundane list transcends its basic utility for the shopper, transforming into a crucial beacon of organization and foresight. Imagine, if you will, the significance of revisiting this list, not just once but perhaps multiple times, to ensure no essential is forgotten.

From Kathmandu to Magicland
Now, I'd like to pivot from the practical to the enchanting, sharing a personal story that continues to hold immense importance to me. I invite you to lean in and listen, for within these words lies a tale of magic.
Yes, magic. An elusive spark that dances through life in myriad forms, familiar to us all. My mother and I, alongside our crew, were fortunate enough to encounter such magic firsthand about two months ago.
Our journey took us from Kathmandu to a quaint town known as Nowacot, guided by the local expertise of my photographer.
Amidst the raw beauty of our surroundings, a recommendation from him led us to a discovery unlike any other.
Imagine a hotel, if you can, not merely old but ancient, brimming with objects of beauty and history in every corner.
Despite the exhaustion from our pre-dawn adventures to capture the morning mist, my mother's interest was piqued at the mention of this hotel. The promise of chocolate to revive her spirits was all it took for us to embark on what would become a memorable exploration.
Upon arrival, my mother was so overtaken by the beauty and charm of the place that she found herself at a loss for words, a rarity. We were standing within a centuries-old Newari farm, lovingly transformed into a hotel with unparalleled personal touch. No two rooms were the same, each adorned with meticulous care and finesse.
Granted permission to photograph in this enchanting place, we immersed ourselves in its magic, doing our best to capture its essence before returning to Kathmandu in the evening. Working hard. Working really hard to make the most of our chance to capture its charm.
The Famous Farm: A Designer's Delight
Mother insisted that my designs really were in tandem with the sentiment to this place. The focus on details that really are not details at all.
Just an ongoing dialogue between style, charm and functionality.
Mother stuck to her plan, and the whole crew was utterly exhausted as they were dispatched back to Kathmandu in the evening.
But the story does not end here, as she refused to leave herself.
We ended up extending our stay for ten more nights, bewitched by the allure of this place humbly named The Famous Farm. And letting its realm of beauty, charm, inspire us to take the time to really do thorough work.
I really hope it comes across in the beautiful photos how a certain way of thinking, a philosophy if you will, can cross over from one realm to the next.
For a dedicated fashionista like myself, “The Important Farm” seemed a more fitting moniker. It was here, amid the serene beauty, that my mother and I produced some of our finest work.
I really hope that it comes across in all the beautiful pictures, images and photos just how powerful such dedication to detail really can be.
A highlight of our stay was fostering a harmonious relationship between myself and the manager's robust 40kg dog, Obama, with my diminutive 2.6kg canine companion asserting gentle dominance.
This experience, nestled in the heart of nature and history, reminded us that magic is real, palpable in the connections we forge and the beauty we capture. It's a story of discovery, creativity, and the enduring power of a practical approach to charm.
